The local voluntary association, Calasparra Se Mueve has raised a massive 25,000 euros over the past year which they have donated to the Oncology Investigation Team at the University Hospital Morales Meseguer.
During a ceremony at Calasparra Town Hall yesterday a symbolic cheque was presented to Francisco Ayala, Head of the Medical Oncology Unit and Elisa Garre, oncology specialist at the Breast Cancer Unit of the Morales Meseguer Hospital and the oncology specialist, Alicia de Luna.
The Mayoress of Calasparra, Teresa Garcia, and the Head of the Local Department of Health, María Eulalia García and Juan Bernal, Head of Fiestas, attended the event.
The cheque presented by Calasparra De Mueve reflects the enormous work and effort carried out over the past year in different fund raising that also reflects the solidarity of local residents.
Francisco Ayala thanked the Association for their confidence in the project for another year and underlined the great responsibility of managing the donation in the best manner possible by continuing existing projects and starting new ones.
