ANSE PROTEST SAVES BIRDS FROM ELECTROCUTION

As a result of pressure from the ecologist group, ANSE, the electricity pylons and cables in Calasparra have been «corrected» to protect birds from being electrocuted following the death of migrating storks last August.
The pictures of dead storks appeared on social media durig the summer after some of a flock of the migrating birds, passing over Calasparra on their way to Africa, decided to rest on the cables in the Daya area and were electrocuted.
This dramaic scene was also captured on video by a Citizen Science Volunteer who immediately contacted the NGO, CECOFOR, who denounced
the incident.

ANSE and the rest of the oganisations of the campaign «Mirandoaltendido» (which reports and denounces similar incidents) asked the competent administrations of the Environment and Industry, regional and national governments and the electricity companies for a definite solution to a grave problem for the conservation of biodiversity in Calasparra.
Thanks to this pressure, after waiting for two months, the pylons and cables in Calasparra, that presented a grave risk for birds,  have been «corrected».
