SEVEN MILLION EURO REPAIRS TO CENAJO DAM

The Segura Water Board has announced a tendering process for restoration work on the Cenajo Dam valued at more than  seven million euros.
The 7,077,379.97 euros contract includes renewing the floodgates system, replacing auxiliary systems, substituting valves and reconditioning  the electrical ssytem.
The work is expected to take 20 months and has been classified as an urgent drought measure due to its strategic importance to the Water Board.
Cenajo is situated at the head of the Segura River and has a capacity of 437 metric hectares. It is the reservoir with the highest capacity in the Segura area and represents 40% of its water reserves. It serves a population of 2,500,000 people and an irrigation area of 220,000 hectres-
