NO PRICE INCREASES FOR NEXT 10 YEARS FOR AQUALIA CUSTOMERS

Calasparra Town Hall has announced an agreement with Aqualia that extends the company’s contract for the next 10 years and guarantees no price increases in water rates during that period.
The Mayoress, Teresa Garcia, also announced the agreement included a remodelling of the Plaza de la Corredera and significant investments in the local streets, parks, gardens, drinking water pipes and popular public areas.
Yesterday morning the local Government team announced the extension of the water service contract for an additional 10 years which carried «great benefits» for the families in the area and the town as a whole. Apart from freezing water rates for 10 years the Town  Hall has
managed to increase the anticipated water rate by 1,300,000, a sum which will be invested in the local area.
Apart from the investments mentioned above the other most significant will be the introduction of a Next Generation collection service for Bio-residue in Calasparra.
Although freezing the water rates for residents was a fundamental part of the agreement the Town Hall has also established a public-private colaboration agreement to support and assist the private water networks. Telecontrol water meters will be installed to improve water management and suppress the service share of the head water meter.
The agreement also improves the conditions of the employees including improved salaries and an extended workforce.
Finally, the Mayoress announced a new Rule of Service to facilitate relations with service users that aims to expedite procedures and improve bureaucracy.
Teresa García declared that the Town Hall had «carefully studied the possibility of changing the management of  water to Municpal»  but technical reports carried out and considered by the Town Hall had indicated that «at this time this was not a viable option».
