A man, with apparent mental health problems, carried out his threat to burn a patrol car of the local police in Calasparra over the weekend.
The vehicle was partially burned (see photo).
The man had previously turned up at the local Police Station and threatened to burn a police vehicle and then kill himself. A threat he partially carried out later when the police station was unattended.
Some minutes after the incident the officers arrived to find the vehicle burning and the culprit still on the premises.
He later appeared before magistrates.
