Wednesday May 1 is a national and international fiesta to mark the Day of the Workers.
Expect most shops and services to be closed although most bars and restaurants will be open.

I apolgise for the previous error naming MONDAY and not WEDNESDAY as May 1. Because it is called the «May Puente» I assumed it was Monday making a bridge over the weekend. Taking a long weekend until Wednesday is more like an acueduct than a bridge!! Despite the lack of education from the reader who sent me the correction I am grateful for the opportunity to correct it.
