During a reunion between Calasparra Towen Hall and the regional Department of Promotion the Mayores repeated the urgent request for the construction of the Autovia del Norte and Altiplano to replace the RM 714, Calasparra – Venta de Olivas Road, in order to reduce the isolation of Calasparra and create a «vertebrate» for the region.
despite the repeated requests from Calasparra for the autovia, once again, the region has refused stating there are only funds to repair the road not to replace it.
The Autovia del Norte proposed by Calasparra would provide a new link for the interior mediterranean and connect the region of Murcia to Andalusia, Valencia and Madrid.
Other demands made by the Mayoress, Teresa Garcia, include the construction of a bridge to unite the GR-127 with the RM-714 and repairs to the T-1 between Calasparra and Cieza.
Calasparra has also applied for the restoration of the «Puente Nuevo», the iron bridge across the river Argos, and to the old bridge across the river Segura, formally part of the RM-714.
Another request is for street lighting in busy areas, which are thr property of the region, such as the entrance to the Mula Road, the Valentin Road and the Cuesta Blanca area as well as the entrance from the RM-714 to the town.
The Town Hall has also requested repairs to the CRP-13-103, which unites the municipal area with the rice fields and the Abrigos del Pozo.
