The Riverside Copses and Woods of the Cañaverosa Natural Park are well trodden by the residents ansd visitors to Calasparra and the plan is to extend them along the former «finca» of almond trees, now abandoned, on the right as you approach Cañaverosa from the road to the Sanctuary.
ANSE, the Nature Association of the South East, has already prepared the land and restored the immigration systems, raising the borders to avoid losing irrigation water and, every Sundaty, has been organizing a day for volunteers to help replant the area with native trees and bushes.
The «finca» is called the «Huertecicia»(which also gives its name to the path which runs above the existing river bank wood and makes a ciruclar walk with the walk along the river).
