The local voluntary association, Calasparra Se Mueve, presented a cheque for 20,000 euros to the Cancer Investigation Unit at the Arrixaca Hospital in a ceremony held at Calasparra Town Hall.
The money, raised during the year through different activities in Calasparra, will help implant the early investigation team at the hospital. There are 17 such teams in Spain one of which is at the Arrixaca.
José Luis Alonso Romero, Head of the Cancer Investigation Unit at the hospital, and Paula Carreño, Coordinator of the Unit attended the cermoney to recieve the cheque.
These funds represent a massive effort by the Association during the year and the collaboration of the residents of Calasparra.
