As many medical centres and emergency departments in hospitals collapse due to the number of patients with flu, respiratory disorders and Covid, the Regional Health Authority has issued an order making the wearing of masks obligatory in Medical Centres, Hospitals, Emergency Departments and Primary Care Facilities from tomorrow, January 6.
Today, at Calasparra Medical Centre staff were handing out masks to patients as they entered the facility.
The Regional Health Authority has also issued the following advice:
Increased measures of protection against contagion are recommended to avoid catching respiratory viruses and patients are reminded that the flu vaccinations are available at the local Medical Centres.
Anyone with symptoms should reduce contact with vulnerable people, use a mask and avoid crowds.
The incidence of respìratory inections has increased by 23.4 percent over the last week putting pressure on all medical facilitites.
Vulnerable groups include those over 65 years old; the chronically ill; and pregnant women.
Anyone can make an appointment for a vaccination against flu at the local Medical Centre.
