Calasparra Town Hall will finally buy the old Bull Ring from the private owners for nearly 400,000 euros after years of tussling and argueing and two years renting a mobile bull ring for the local fiestas.
Events at the current bull ring, La Caverina, were suspended when technicians at the Town Hall decreed the Caverina needed repairs and improvments in order to host the local fiestas. The Town Hall offered to buy the property and carry out the work but the owners refused to sell. So for two years a mobile bull ring was erected outside the Chapel of Rest in Calasparra for the fiestas.
However, in a unexpected turn of events the owner of the Bull Ring has put the property up for sale and the Town Hall has offered 392,748,10 euros for its purchase.

Currently an economic viability study is underway as the two parties head towards a long awaited agreement.
