The Cueva del Puerto, (Puerto Cave), first to exhibit luminescent minerals in a cave, logged another first on Saturday as the Vuelta del Sierra del Puerto hikers passed through the cavity.
The hike through the cave was organized with guides and formed part of the Iberic Hiking League calendar.
More than 130 hikers took part in the 45 kilometre hike, the Vuelta del Puerto, which included heights of 807 metres, was organized by the local athletics and hiking association, Blade Runners.
The hike, which takes in some of the most stunning views in Calasparra, began at Calasparra station and at kilometre 36 passed through the cave.
