Although, there has been a dramatic drop in the incidence of Covid-19 in the population of the region, according to the most recent statistics, in the May/June period 12 people died and there were over 1,000 contagions.
The good news is that the incidence of Covid-19 in the latest statistics has fallen to 54 per 100,000 head of population from 138 during the period May 22 to June 27. However, during the May/June counting period there were 1,084 contagions and 12 people died of the virus.
The regional Health Authority has published these statistics and warns «Covid-19 is still out there and is still killing people.»
The authority recommends that people remain vigilant and cautious despite the recent lifting of the obligation to wear masks in chemists, medical centres etc. and advises wearing masks if the case of having symptoms of Covid and/or when around vulnerable people.
