As 42.2 litres of rain fell in Calasparra yesterday in little more than an hour, compared to neighbouring towns Calasparra got off lightly.
Late yesterday afternoon it was almost impossible to pass through the centre of Moratalla for the torrential rain of 113 litres per square metre. At the Casa de Cristo 93 litres fell per square metre.
In Calasparra hail stones of four to five centimetres in diameter fell and torrentual rain.
A lightening strike on the RM -714 Calasparra to Venta de Olivos caused a small fire.
The good news is that we expect wall to wall sunshine and rising temperatures over the next few days in the Murcia region.
