Calasparra Town Hall will receive central government funds of 142,000 euros to reform and improve local dwellings after signng an agreement with the Minister of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda in Madrid yesterday.
The funds will cover 15 interventions in this initial phase,between 8,000 and 21,000 euros per dwelling, to improve facades, roofing, window replacement and install air conditioning and heating using renewable energy,
There will be more funds available for further stages of the project once the first phase is completed.
The Town Hall will set up an office to advise and administer these funds to applicants from the local community.
Work on this first phase must be completed by June 30 2026.
The funds are part of the national Plan to Recover, Reform and Strengthen housing and counts on funds from EU Next Generation.
Calasparra is one of five municipal areas to sign the agreement with the Ministry.
Central Government has allocated 55.5 million euros for the restoration of residential and social housing in the Murcia region and 1,889 millions nationally.
