The Esperanza Primary School in Calasparra is one of ten regional schools recognised by UNICEF as a benchmark of excellence in children´s education.
A special ceremony for all 10 of the schools recognised this year was held in the Municipal Auditoium and presided over by the Mayoress of Calasparra, Teresa Garcia. Ten regional schools, of the 148 schools recongised nationally by UNICEF, were presented with certificates.
This means some 4,000 children in the Murcia region in infant, primary and secondary education, promote and defend the rights of children based on the International Convention of the Rights of the Child.
The ceremony was organised by UNICEF with the collaboration of Calasparra Town Hall and the first school to take the stage was the Esperanza Primary Schpool.

During the ceremony the Mayoress underlined the commitment of Calasparra to the rights of the child developed in various areas, including the local Committee of Infants and Adolescence, which forms part of UNICEF´s Child Friendly Cities initiative of UNICEF, in which Calasparra was recognised for the first time in 2019,
