SIERRA ESPÙÑA RESTRICTS ACCESS FOR CONSERVATION

Access to the Sierra Espuña will be restricted until June in order to protect owls and the Royal Eagle during the nesting season.
The Director of the Environment in Murcia has announced areas of the natural park (Carmona-Cuevas Luengas and Solaba de Pedro Lopez) will be cut off and signposted in order to keep disturbance  to a minimum and to ensure the survival of these endangered species.
In the area of Carmona-Cuevas Luengas the Senda de Agua continues to be accessible and other footpaths around the perifery as well as forest paths and the footpath (PR-MU-63) E.
Breeding in the park was interrupted for many years but has resumed after these annual restrictions were put in place.
