Although rain was predicted for Friday the sudden and severe hailstorm that turned the world white took everyone by surprise.
Fortunately the two hours pounding caused little material damage and the local police did not have emergency calls during the storm, however 40 litres of water fell on Calasparra in just two hours.
Weather centre predictions last week of rain all this week have melted away like the hailstones. Now forecasters promise daytime temperatures of between 16 and 22 degrees. Monday to Wednesday will be cloudy, they predict, but from Thursday to Sunday will be wall to wall sunshine. Night time temperatures on Wednesday and Saturday could hover around zero.
