NEW ROAD TRAFFIC SIGNS FOR NEXT YEAR

The General Direction of Traffic (DGT) is preparing a series of new and modified road signs for 2023, which are a more modern design and change in line with new social, technological and cultural conventions.
Thus there are signs for low emission zones and the recently incorporated new signals for recharging stations for electric vehicles.
Another new sign shows two vehicles with paths that cross and alerts motorists to the danger of other vehicles changing carriageways and/or crossing in front as a result of a slip road or fork feed and warns of the “danger of collisions”.
The new Animals in Liberty warning sign features a wild boar and is an addition to the sign with a deer, a cow or domestic animals.
The new Reduced Visibility sign will be used along parts of a road were circulation is frequently made difficult because of a notable loss of visibility due to rain, fog, snow or smoke etc
A new sign  signals a Prohibition for electric scooters and personal mobility vehicles.
The old Level Crossing without barriers sign has the old steam engine replaced by a more modern engine but with the same level of danger for a crossing without or with half barriers.
The Beware Children Crossing sign has been changed so that the older child is female in line with new social times and gender identity issues.
There will be a new sign, in addition to the alert for elderly people, to indicate a place frequented by elderly people such as a residence.
The catalogue of new signs is extensive and doesn´t only warn of danger and restrictions but also includes indications, parking and obligations.
The STOP signs will also be modified.
