In another attempt by the Spanish Government to cut fuel bills with winter on the horizon, the IVA (VAT) on gas, including natural gas, will be cut from 21% to 5% from October until at least December 31.
The cut in IVA also applies to other fuels such as pellets, chips and firewood.
The reduction of IVA on electricity from 21% to 5% already benefits millions of households.
On September 30 the EU Energy Ministers will meet to agree a «European» solution to the energy crisis with a ceiling on gas prices, which would have a knock on effect on electricity prices, appearing to be more and more likely.
