National Police officers have arrested four men from Calasparra and Alguazas for robbing luxury cars following a raid on a mechanic´s workshop in Molino del Segura in May.
The men were aged between 33 and 52 years were, according to the police, part of a gang operating in Calasparra and Alguazas.
A police source confirmed that all the men are Spanish and will face charges of vehicle theft, falsifying documents, threats, false «denuncias» and illicit association. They will appear before magistrates in Molina de Segura.
The police investigation began with the raid on the workshop where they found one of the stolen vehicles. They also found cash, documentation and top of the range vehicles at the homes of the suspects.
It appears that the members of the band stole the vehicles, manipulated the mileage and the number on the car body and then falsified documents in order to subsequently sell the cars, mainly outside Spain.
During the police operation in various dwellings they found various documents, 540,000 euros in cash as well as eight luxury vehicles such as a Mercedes E-220 cabrio, a Ferrari California, a Porsche Carrera 911 and a Porsche Panamera worth more than 500.000 euros.
