Sadly, since April 28 when the last statistics for the region were published, seven more people have died of Covid-19 bringing the regional death toll of the virus to 2,254.
There were 302 new cases diagnosed in the last 24 hours. Only vulnerable groups such as the over 60´s are being tested and yesterday was a fiesta in the Murcia region so less testing was carried out.
However, the number of hospital admissions has remained steady at 258, of which six are intensive care. These are the same numbers as those published for April 28.
In Calasparra there have been 20 active cases of the virus recorded over the past seven days.
There is speculation that the of over 80’s will be given a fourth «booster» vaccination. The regional government has announced in favour of this move but as yet no decision has been taken by the Department of Health.
