Public Health has announced there are 706.740 patients on the waiting list for operations, which is “a historic maximum”.
The national average waiting time is 123 days.
In the Murcia region there are 24,892 patients on the waiting list who will wait an average of 94 days for their operation.
The number of patients on the region´s waiting list is the seventh worst performing in Spain, however, waiting times are the fifth best nationally and almost half the number of the worst performing region, Aragon.
Trauma patients wait the longest time with general surgery and gynaecological problems second and eye surgery third.
