Former workers at the troubled Conservas Fernández canning plant (known locally as Diosa) have decided to take their future into their own hands and attempt to purchase the factory with the funds that are owed to them.
The workers have salaries and redundancy payments pending since the plant closed and are collecting signatures, initially from members of the former workforce, and later from the members of the public, to support their plans to re-open the factory.
