SIX COVID DEATHS IN 24 HOURS IN THE REGION

There are currently 5,520 active cases of Covid-19 in the region of Murvcia and, tragically, six more deaths from the virus.
Those who died are four men and two women, aged 90, 89, 76, 81 and 57 years.
An expert from Murcia University says the sixth wave of the virus consists of a combination of the Delta and the Omicron variants, both highly contagious, and predicts the number of daily contagions in the region could rise to between 5 to 8,000 cases daily.
A total of 125,000 Covid-19 cases are likely during the sixth wave which should reach its peak around January 10 to 16, according to this expert.
He also points out that many cases of the virus, without symptoms or with  light symptoms, will not be reflected in the statistics as people may be unaware they have contracted the virus. This increases the danger of contagions in the community and means the number of cases registered may be an under estimation.
