The Federation of Consumers and Service Users (FUCI) estimates that every tax payer in the region of Murcia will face extra costs this year totaling 679 euros due to rises in income tax, IBI (equivalent to Council Tax), mortgage interest and basic services, and price hikes for natural gas and water,.
The FUCI calculate that the rise in income tax alone will cost individuals some 222 euros annually and the imminent revision of mortgage interest rates will cost on average an extra 360 euros a year.
The rise of between 4 and 10% in IBI (Impuesto Inmuebles Bienes) will represent an average of 42 euros extra per household this year.
The organization notes that prices of electricity and butane gas have been frozen but rises in natural gas will cost households an extra 0.57 euros
monthly.
Water charges, which are the responsibility of the individual Town Halls, are expected to rise by as much as 60% which translates to four euros extra monthly.
