A delegation has visited the site of the work on the terraces at the local Sanctuary, which were swept away when the river Segura broke its banks in 2013.
The project has now reached the final stage and was inspected by the Director General of the Environment, Fulgencio Perona, accompanied by local councilors, Juan Jose Lopez and Juan Bernal.
The work started in September last year and consists of laying stones along the picnic areas and removing the barbecues as well as prevention measures to avoid further flooding at a cost of 47,734.50 euros. The work is partly financed by the European FEDER fund.
