LOCAL POLICE ENFORCE OBLIGATORY MASKS LAW

Local police officers are patrolling different areas of Calasparra on foot to ensure masks are being worn as required by law and they have already issued fines.
It is obligatory to wear a mask on the public highway and in open air spaces where it is not possible to maintain the safe distance of 1.5 metres from anyone else.
Masks are also obligatory in closed public spaces; on public transport and in vehicles of up to nine seats if all passengers do not live with the driver;
There are some exceptions:-
Children under six years old are not obliged to wear masks although they are “recommended” for children between three and five years.
Those who have breathing difficulties or some other medical reason. Justification will be required.
Neither are mask required for activities, such as eating or drinking, where they are incompatible.
Failing to comply with this law may result in a fine.
“I protect myself. You protect me. Use a mask to avoid new contagions.”
