A unit of
soldiers remains in Calasparra to assist the local police and the Guardia Civil
ensure residents obey the order under the State of Alarm to stay at home.
Even though the Government has allowed some construction and production
companies to re-open their factories and sites people who do not work in these authorized
businesses are required to stay at home and only go out when absolutely
essential.
Ideally, residents should be leaving their homes once a week or even every 10
days to buy everything they need for the next period of confinement. Residents
who go out every day or even more than once a day may find themselves facing
heavy fines.
Residents may leave their homes to:
Buy essential food and basic supplies and medicines
Go the medical appointments
Go to and from work if authorized to do so
Return to their habitual residence
Assist elderly or vulnerable people in the community
Go to the bank or insurance company
There have been over 100 fines imposed on residents in Calasparra for disobeying this regulation.
There are to date 22 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Calasparra.
One resident of Calasparra has already died in hospital after becoming g infected with covid-19.
