The local
police and the Guardia Civil have been patrolling local shops and stores and
setting up vehicle checks to ensure that residents are obeying the regulation to stay at home and only go out
when absolutely necessary.
Unfortunately, according to the local police, there are still residents who go
out of their homes several times day.
Over 100 residents in Calasparra have been fined for breaking the regulation which
requires residents to stay at home.
Miguel Ángel
Martínez, Head of the local police says: ”We have already surpassed 100 “denuncias”
in the municipal area and we continue to
exercise strict and rigorous controls on
vehicles on the public highway, as well as foot patrols in order to detect
those residents who go out several times a day .”
He continued to say patrols had been increased in shopping areas and
shopkeepers had been asked for their maximum cooperation.
“The strict confinement in our homes continues to be the most effective way to
contain the virus,” he added.
Congratulating his officers for the work they were carrying out and called on
residents “to make a last effort in the continued fight against covid-19.
