Today, March 12,
the local government of the PSOE at Calasparra Town Hall, issued the following
statement;-
Due to the
propagation of the Coronavirus Covid-19, its recent arrival in the Murcia
region and in accordance with advice from the competent health authorities, the
following prevention measures will be taken and will be in force until March
31.
All cultural, sport and leisure activities organised by Calasparra Town Hall
will be suspended or postponed as a precautionary measure. The weekly market
will also be suspended.
All activities of the Municipal School of Sport, the Music School, the Nursery,
the Adult Education Centre (Universidad Popular), the 24 hour study
centre, and activities in the Casa de la
Cultura will be suspended.
The library will continue to lend and collect return books.
The OAPs Residence has activated a special protocol and the OAPs Club will
remain closed except the cafeteria.
Activities at the Nuevo Pozo Social Centre are suspended.
The public will continue to be informed of changes to the protocol around COVID-19
Coronavirus through the press, social media and printed notices.
An intensive clean and disinfection of all of the municipal installations has
begun.
Sanitiser gel will placed in public spaces during the next few hours as will notices listing measures and precautions to be taken in light of the virus which will be displayed in municipal centres and education centres.
Residents are asked not to go to the Calasparra Health Centre unless it is absolutely essential. All consultational programmes have been suspended for patient safety. The coordinator of
the OAPs Residence has announced that visits and duration of visits will be
restricted.
In order that
these measures are strictly adhered to the Health Centre is working closely
with the local police.
It is important that residents follow the official recommendations of extreme
care in matters of personal hygiene and above all concerning hand washing. These
measures are preventative and aim to avoid the propagation of the virus.
We count on great health professionals and we are grateful for their work and
effort throughout this period: We must continue to be responsible and
collaborate with the current established protocol. While we can confirm there
is no case of the virus currently in Calasparra it is necessary to follow these
preventative measures and to remain in permanent contact with the competent regional
authorities.
GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS
Avoid any unnecessary travel. If you have travelled to a risk zone or have
symptoms stay at home and call 900 12 12 12 or 112.
Cancel or suspend private events with a lot of people whether they are inside
or outside.
Look out for information notices from the Health Ministry or OMS with further
information and avoid false news and rumours.
