Although, so far, Calasparra seems to have avoided most of the bad weather there are warnings for snow on the roads around us.
A RED alert for snow on the main Caravaca road, RM711, has been issued by the Director of Traffic. The warning covers 11 to 16 kilometres of the road, although which area is not specified.
There is also a YELLOW alert for snow on the RM703 road, Moratalla to the Sierra of San Juan and various other roads in the region close to Calasparra.
The official advice is not to use the car unless it is an absolute emergency and if you must drive to do so with extreme caution as the weather is expected to deteriorate during today, tomorrow and Wednesday, with conditions unlikely to improve before Thursday of this week.
