CALASPARRA TAKES UP THE CHALLENGE OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

Calasparra has signed up to an agenda of sustainable development, designed by the United Nations, and which will form part of local government policy for the next 10 years.
The objectives of the campaign will be displayed in public spaces in Calasparra as a “road map” for the future. These objectives are:

To end poverty
Zero hunger
Health and wellbeing
Quality education
Equality of the sexes
Clean water and sanitation
Affordable, clean energy
Decent work and economic growth
Industrial innovation and infrastructure
Reduce inequalities
Sustainable cities and communities
Responsible production and consumerism
Climate action
Sea life
The life of the ecosystems on earth
Peace, justice and solid institutions
Alliances  to achieve these objectives

The Mayor of Calasparra, Jose Velez, and the Head of the local Department of Environment, Juan Bernal, have presented a campaign committing to these objectives to mark the fourth anniversary of the approval of Agenda 2030  of the Objectives of Sustainable Development of the General Assembly of the United Nations.
These objectives will be present during the whole of the legislature and include 17 challenges (listed above) developed to guarantee the sustainability of the planet and the sustainability of people from social, cultural, economic and environmental perspectives, in which the cities and their governments are fundamental actors.
