In spite of dire warnings
from the Met Office of torrential rain, electric storms and flooding, just 3.2
litres of rain fell per square meters in Calasparra earlier this week
(Tuesday).
The news was not so good for other parts of the region
as some 84 calls were made to the emergency service 112 service.
Torre Pacheco and Fuente Alamo were seriously affected as 31 litres of rain
fell per square meters in less than four hours and in Lorca the RM-D21 was
closed after torrential rain rendered it impassable.
In Murcia capital 8.4 litres fell in 10 minutes and in Campos del Río 36.8 litres
fell in four hours.
The rain caused disruption to traffic in the capital and in many towns and
villages although generally the North West part of Murcia, which includes
Molino del Segura and Calasparra, escaped the worst of the weather.
