Five hours of rock and roll in the Open Air Theatre at Calasparra Castle on Saturday night was curtain up for local fiestas of the Patron Saints with timeless rock and roll from legends of yesterday and tomorrow.
Curtain raisers were Al Dual with the classical sounds of American rock and roll. Winners of the Ameripolitan Music Awards 2018 the brilliant frontman and guitarrist, Al Dual, and his superb musicians, Mila Rodríguez_guitar, Senén García, drums, Alfonso Múgica_bass and double bass, Nelo Cafaro on piano and Guille Gosalbo, sax, brought the house down.
Just before the end of Act One the two frontmen for The Rebeldes, Carlos Segarra and Miguel Angel Escorcia, joined the band for a veritable musical tsunami.
A now ecstatic audience were primed for the stars of the night, the mythical Rebeldes, celebrating 40 years in the music business, and they didn´t disappoint.
Classical Spanish rock and roll with practically everyone in the audience singing along and a magical performance from Carlos and Miguel with Miguel Miñana, double bass, Cuti Vericad, guitar, piano and vocals and Pedro Delgado on the drums.
With the unenviable task of following these two monsters of rock and roll La Travelling Band played to a much smaller audience, as by half past two in the morning and an exhausting musical feast, many fiesta goers were ready for bed.
This Murcian band, Pedro Navarro, guitar, Roger Maccari, bass, Samu Baeza, drums, and the extraordinary voice of Carlos Singer played classical, elegant covers to a now intimate crowd.
Five hours of live rock and roll in the cool of the early morning in one of the most emblematic spots in Calasparra. Everyone had a ball!!
