The local Health
Centre has trained numerous students, nurses and doctors from universities all
over the Murcia región and has become a reerence for the rest of the region.
This week the staff celebrated the 10th anniversary of the project at a special
ceremony at Calasparra Town Hall with the local councilors, Antonio Merino
(Political Science) and Francisca Sanchez, (Health); the Director General of
Health Area IV, Mercedes Barba; the Coordinator of the Health Centre, Imma
Martinez; the Coordinator and Nursing Tutor, Rafael Guirao; family doctor,
Irene Garcia; and Dr Jose Antonio Pascual, responsible for quality management
in research and teaching for North West
Murcia.
During the next few months the teaching role of the Health Centre will be
expanded to in the areas of Medicine, Nursing and Physiotherapy.
