A Nexonr reader has asked us to warn residents on the
Tierra del Sol who walk their dogs in and around the urbanization, that poison
has been left, apparently deliberately, in the area.
Our reader says: “ I wanted to inform you as to another two lots of poisoning being
put down on Tierra del Sol: there was some left on Saturday evening and then
again this evening.”
The “poison,” potatoes and bread smothered in slug pellets was eaten by a dog.
However, luckily the owner has oxygenated water to bring on sickness and the
animal recovered.
There have been several other occasions when poison has been left, apparently deliberately,
in areas where residents walk their dogs.
The local police and the Mayor of Calasparra have been informed. However, it is
imperative that residents witnessing similar incidents should report the matter
to the police so they can investigate.
Our reader says a blue car was seen “acting suspiciously” near the scene of the
poison. This is vital information which should be relayed to the local police.
Pet owners are advised to take precautions in the area and not to allow their
dogs to eat anything lying around on the ground.
