A young Calasparrian canoeist will be the first Murcian to join the top canoeists in Spain and begin training this weekend to represent his country in the white water slalom at the Olympics.
Juan Martínez Rodríguez, member of the Municipal Canoe Club and Sub National Champìon, has been invited to join CAR (High Performance Centre) in La Seu d´Urgell. The Centre is the only centre dedicated to white water slalom in the Spain as an Olympic sport and takes only the cream of the sport.
The national trainers have selected Juan on the basis of his excellent results this year.
