In a fitting tribute to the patron saints of Calasparra, St Abdón and Sene, who are also the patrons of the harvest and local agricultural, residents and associations of the town brought floral offerings and filled the Saints Church with colour and perfumes last Sunday.
The townsfolk were invited to dress in traditional Murcian costumes of the “huertana” for the mass and floral offering and a short parade was held before the mass in the church square.
The Rondalla, OAPs music group accompanied the mass and afterwards the Kings and Queens of the Huerta were elected: Eva Mª Sánchez Haro and Juan Merino Moreno, adults, and juniors, Gloria García Haro and Pedro José Martínez Moreno.
