The Mayor of Calasparra, Jesús Navarro, has been elected as the second Vice President of the Federation of Municipal Areas in the region of Murcia. The President is the Mayor of Murcia, Miguel Ángel Cámara, and the first Vice President is the Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jódar,.
In his fourth year as President Miguel Ángel Cámara announced that he would create a “table for dialogue” to reach agreement on how to pay outstanding debts to suppliers.
Cámara has underlined that the Federation will try and resolve and financial difficulties of the region´s Town Halls and would initiate reforms in the public administrations to “try and alleviate the tensions of the treasuries.”
The General Assembly of the Federation, held last Friday, also nominated the members of the Executive Commission. They are the mayors of the Partido Popular from Murcia, Lorca, Cartagena, Caravaca, Yecla, Molina de Segura, Torres de Cotillas and San Pedro del Pinatar as well as the Socialist mayors of Calasparra and Beniel.
