Twenty years after it was founded Calasparra Football Club has been disbanded due to economic problems, just before the 2011/2012 season begins.
The club, which was founded in 1991, has been struggling under financial pressures problems for some time. The announcement of the club´s demise was announced at the Annual General Meeting held on Friday.
Calasparra FC has played in Group 13 of the Third Division in the Murcia region since the season 2001/2002. The following season was the worse one for the club when they finished in 17th place.
The best position achieved by the club was in 2007/2008 when they attained sixth place but last season they finished the season in 16thplace.
