A total of 12.4 million euros has been allocated to the treatment of patients undergoing kidney dialysis, to bring the treatment centres closer to their place of residence.
The Department of Health has announced that patients in Calasparra will be able to receive dialysis in Caravaca instead of travelling further afield.
The new treatment centres will be phased in over the next five years.
Dialysis patients generally have three sessions a week.
The new centres will treat some 135 patients, many of whom live in North East Murcia.
