The Regional Assembly has passed an unanimous motion supporting residents and the Cehegin and Calasparra Town Halls, which oppose a rubbish dump on the skirts of the Sierra del Puerto in Valentin.
The motion, proposed by the Socialist Party, opposes the installation of the dump for recycling and the elimination of dangerous residues and the expansion and modification of the environmental authorization for the treatment of urban solid wastes.
This motion gives unanimous support to the affected residents and local authorities which oppose the installation and aim to take legal action to halt the dump.
