Some 400 lanterns were lit on Christmas Eve in Calasparra as the sky was set alight for charity.
Calasparrians queued to donate 1€ and/or non perishable foodstuffs to the local Caritas and Cruz Rojo and buy a paper lantern, which was lit and floated into the night sky.
Unfortunately, late comers were disappointed to discover there were no more lanterns , as 400 was the maximum set for safety reasons by the local police and Civil Protection.
A visitor for the children in the central parking as well as Santa Claus came to town.
There was face painting, balloon sculptures and fancy dress characters from “Frozen” plus the Association Band of music making music in the streets.
