After months of drought some 13 litres of rain fell per square metre in Calasparra over the last 48 hours.
In fact, during last month 60 litres of rain fell per square metre in our area.
This is good news for the farmers, for the reservoirs and for the wild animals in the mountains which were struggling to survive as no rainfall means no vegetation.
However, it is probably to late to save the wild mushroom season which has been a disaster this year and the traditional wild mushrooms of the area (the orange ones) have reached an astronomic price putting them beyond the reach of normal mortals.
