This week petrol was one percent more expensive than last week, at 1.32 a litre, and, largely due to the political unrest in the Middle East, the price continues to soar.
Petrol prices have broken records for three weeks running and, according to data provided by the Petrol Bulletin this week, a full tank will cost on average 73 euros.
The price hike for diesel has been steeper rising by 1.7% since last week. On average a litre of diesel costs 1.29 euros and motorists will pay an average of 71 euros to fill up with diesel.
