The annual agricultural prize, in the gift of the local Saints Broterhood, was presented on Saturday evening during a harvest festival mass in the Saints Church.
The event coincided with the local rice harvest, which is well underway locally.
Later, in Calle Mayor, an exhibition, “Our Roots, Our Culture” was officially opened by the Mayor of Caalasparra, Jose Velez.
On Sunday morning it was the turn of local folklore with colourful displays of music and dancing from the host group, the Rondalla of Calasparra, and the Animeros from Sabinar, Campo de St. Juan and Calar de los Santos; and the group, Alegria from Ricote.
