The Sierra del Molino which was ravaged by fire two years ago, will get a 65,000 euros facelift to reestablish the natural beauty of the zone and to fight against desertification and to combat the soil drying out.
The regional executive has authorized an agreement between The Presidential Council of the autonomous government and the company, Red Eléctrica to restore the 600 hectares of natural space within the municipal area of Calasparra destroyed by fire in 2010.
As part of the agreement trees will be planted to reestablish the density of the forest and the area will be improved to favour the fight against desertification and the drying out of the soil.
The agreement remains in force until the end of the December this year but may be renewed on an annual basis and may be extended to other protected natural areas.
Red Eléctrica will be sole funders the restoration work.
