XI PINK MARCH AGAINST CANCER IN CALASPARRA

Yesterday the 11th edition of the charity event, the Pink March (La Marcha Rosa) was organised by the association that fund raises for cancer research in Calasparra, Calasparra Se Mueve, and Calasparra Town Hall.
Hundreds of people, dressed in pink, join in this march year after year, to raise awareness of the importance of the early detection of cancer and to support who fight against this condition.
The March, which counts on the support of numerous local voluntary groups and businesses,  made its traditional stop at the OAPs Resdience and then onto the Rice Growers’s Fountain where, as in every year, a symbolic pink scarf was tied around the statueś neck.
At the Cine Rosales a manifesto was read with words of stregth and encouragement and the local dance group, Espiga del Oro, brought an artistic touch to the day.
As is traditional, the day finished with the launch of pink balloons, a symbol of hope and the fight against breast cancer.
Calasparra Se Mueve paid homage to the oncologist, Enrique Cárdenas Cánovas, allocating him the Numbe One Bib for the March as recognition of his personality, empathy and sympathy.
