WORST DAY FOR COVID IN THE REGION SINCE FEBRUARY

There were over 150 new cases of Covid-19 diagnosed in the region in the last 24 hours in the worst day for the virus since February.
The increase of the virus in the youngest age groups has caused alarm among the health authorities, including Murcia, with plans to start vaccinations in this group next month.
A professor at the University of Murcia claims the virus is “completely out of control” among the 15 to 35 year age band and is warning of a fifth wave in this summer.
There has been an 80% increase in the number of cases of Covid-19 in the 13 to 10 age band in the region. The 15 to 29 year age band represents 45% of the total active cases.
There have been no Covid-19 related deaths in the region in the last 24 hours.
